Even though Hurricane Laura has long since left the Gulf Coast region, clean-up and salvage is in full swing as survivors are trying to piece together their lives again. With 145 mph winds and 9 feet of storm surge, Laura packed a punch that was the worst to hit coastal Louisiana in 130 years.
Operation Compassion is continuing its disaster relief efforts by sending four more trucks loaded with supplies to strengthen and encourage the victims and responders with this monumental disaster. Many of operation Compassion’s disaster relief partners are on the scene doing their part in assisting the Lake Charles region.
God’s Pit Crew loaded an OC truck with supplies headed to the disaster zone. The Church of God Youth and Discipleship Department has provided drivers to deliver eight trucks. Operation Compassion really appreciates these drivers sponsored by the Youth Department led by David Blair, International Director.
Given the amount of damage and destruction in the region, this disaster relief effort will not be a one and done. It will take weeks to clean up and remove debris and possibly years to rebuild. Operation Compassion will do all it can to continue to help and send assistance. However, as with any relief effort it takes financial partners as well. Please consider becoming a financial partner today!
