Operation Compassion before the Storm . . . You are Not Alone
Hurricane Laura was upgraded to a cat 1 storm with the potential to intensify further to cat 3 prior to landfall early Thursday morning. The weather forecast is expecting Hurricane Laura to hit somewhere between Cameron, LA and Port Author, TX given its current track. Evacuations are taking place along a large swath of the Gulf Coast and low lying areas just inland.
Operation Compassion is currently contacting our disaster relief partners getting resources in place in response to this hurricane. Feed the Children, God’s Pit Crew, Mercy Chefs and others are involved in the planning and preparations. Several semi-trucks of bottled water, food, cleaning supplies, hygiene products and many other products necessary to help sustain survivors are staged and ready to be shipped.
We are also contacting disaster relief sites in the area to be prepared to help immediately after Hurricane Laura moves further inland. Operation Compassion will stay with the track of the storm providing relief help until the hurricane is no longer a threat.
Operation Compassion will need your help to meet the requests for assistance. Financial partners are vital for our continued relief efforts. It is easy to give online, by phone (debit/credit card), or through the mail. Become a financial partner with Operation Compassion! Before the storm, YOU are not alone!!
