Operation Compassion Delivers Merry Christmas America

By , December 16, 2003

Throughout the course of 2003, Operation Compassion was busy collecting stocking stuffers, specialty toys, books, cd’s and stuffed animals for children of all ages. This collection became the backbone of the Community Love Connection distribution program Merry Christmas America. In addition to the toys, Operation Compassion procured twenty-six different food items for each of the 400 food boxes and snack food items for Christmas parties and special gatherings.
From California to Florida, churches across America have partnered with Operation Compassion to sponsor these specially designed semi trucks bringing help and relief to communities struggling with poverty. Children, senior adults, single parent families and families living well below the poverty level will enjoy a Merry Christmas because of the compassion of their community leaders.

It is estimated that Operation Compassion will impact the lives of 100,000 children with stocking stuffers and toys this Christmas season across the United States and will feed approximately 10,000 families. Internationally, Operation Compassion will impact approximately 1,000,000 people this Christmas season with stocking stuffers, books, stuffed animals and other toys.

Churches and community groups started notifying Operation Compassion of their intent to sponsor a Merry Christmas America semi truck as early as March 2003. Orders were being finalized through November 15th, when the semi trucks started delivering their appointed cargo. Deliveries will continue to be made until December 19th.

Every one of Operation Compassion’s staff has been working feverishly to provide the very best product available for these families and their children. Even the truck drivers have felt a sense of pride as they leave the warehouse loaded with Christmas joy because of the content of their cargo.
