Planned Giving

By , October 14, 2009

Planned giving is good stewardship in action. It is the integration of personal, financial, and estate planning goals with a person’s goals for lifetime or testamentary charitable giving. Planned giving provides an opportunity for charitable giving in circumstances that may not otherwise allow a donor to make a gift to charity. It helps take control of your future and provide for the causes you deem important without the heavy pitfalls of penalties and taxes. Some of the common types of planned gifts are as follows:

  • Bequest
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Life Estate Reserved (gift of the remainder)
  • Bargain Sale

These are all tools that enable donors to give in a wise manner that will benefit both the charity and themselves.  If you have any questions or concerns, we welcome your calls at (423)728-3932.  See what Operation Compassion can do for you!
