Operation Compassion and Partners Arrive in Joplin, MO

With another catastrophic tornado wiping out half of Joplin, MO, Operation Compassion and their disaster relief network have arrived and set-up in the area. The disaster site is serving four additional satellite sites that are assisting as many survivors as possible. God’s Pit Crew, Gleanings for the World and Mercy Chefs are there clearing debris and downed trees and feeding survivors, volunteers and emergency workers. Operation Compassion Expands Scope of Disaster Relief

It seems this spring has brought about new challenges for disaster relief across the United States from week to week. The latest being the devastating and destructive storm that hit Joplin, MO; with thousands of homes and businesses destroyed, including the Regional Medical Center, injuries and fatalities climbing and survivors shocked by the aftermath. For Operation Compassion and their disaster relief partners, it is another opportunity to help people caught in unexpected circumstances.

Operation Compassion Tornado Relief Update

Operation Compassion has established 31 disaster relief sites in 5 states across the south, providing relief goods. More than 16 sites are serving 1,000’s of hot meals, operating shower trailers, washer/dryer units and clean-up crews. In addition, chaplains and trained disaster counselors are available for anyone wanting to share their personal stories.
