The uniqueness of the Conference on Care is found in the carefully
designed structure and topic selections. This conference will benefit
those wanting to start reaching out to their communities with topics
relating to Breaking Through the Barriers to Ministry, Called
to Care, Recruiting Care Ministers in the Local Church, Success
in Benevolence: Finding a Need and Filling It and Reaching Out to
the Urban Poor.
For those already involved in successful ministries, this conference
will rejuvenate and affirm your calling with discussion on Benevolence:
Casting a global Vision, Marshalling a New Army of Volunteers: Matthew
25 Men, The Benevolence Transformation Process in the Local Church
and Creative Ways of Caring For People in Crisis. Also, there
will be panel discussions and idea exchanges as a method of sharing
ideas more globally.
The Conference on Care is a direct result of the burden and desire
of Dr. John D. Nichols, International Director of Care Ministries,
Church of God, Cleveland, TN, in bringing ministries together in
partnership rather than competitiveness. It is much easier to reach
out to hurting, crisis-laden people when one knows there is others
involved in similar activity.
Another unique characteristic of this Conference is that the cost
of lodging is provided for all three nights plus a beautiful appreciation
dinner at the close on Wednesday. Over two thousand church leaders,
pastors, ministry directors and coordinators of existing and future
care giving ministries have been invited to attend. Currently, over
2,000 have responded and plan on meeting in Nashville, TN. However,
names are being added to a waiting list for anyone still desiring
to attend. Contact the Office of Care Ministries directly at 423-478-7140
and mention your interest in the Conference on Care.
