Hurricane Laura was upgraded to a cat 1 storm with the potential to intensify further to cat 3 prior to landfall early Thursday morning. The weather forecast is expecting Hurricane Laura to hit somewhere between Cameron, LA and Port Author, TX given its current track. Evacuations are taking place along a large swath of the Gulf Coast and low lying areas just inland.

Operation Compassion Update on New House Rebuild

Operation Compassion Receives Heavenly Harvest Products from Feed the Children

During the recent tornado outbreak in southeastern Tennessee and northern Georgia, Operation Compassion reached out to its disaster relief partners for assistance. One of the most values partners, Feed the Children, stepped up and donated product from its vast resources. A new product to Operation Compassion was from Heavenly Harvest. It was there Red Beans and Rice.

Heavenly Harvest’s Red Beans and Rice are ready to eat meals that are heated in the package and served. In this format, the meals are an excellent commodity that works exceptionally well in a disaster setting. Throughout the tornado damaged areas, Operation Compassion was able to serve these meals to survivors. These nutritious meals were well received and enjoyed.

Operation Compassion will be eagerly anticipating the next opportunity to partner with Heavenly Harvest through Feed the Children.

More than a week after several tornadoes ravaged Hamilton and Bradley Counties in southeast Tennessee and Murray County in north Georgia, Operation Compassion continues to respond to communities in need. As damage and destruction became apparent, Operation Compassion began to assist victims immediately.
