Last month, Operation Compassion joined two of our valued ministry partners on a missionto send 580,000 meals to the starving children in South Sudan. We are proud to announce those have arrived and are being distributed as promised!

This miracle to the famine laden survivors in South Sudan was possible only through the help of our product partners and financial supporters. Will you join Operation Compassion in helping feed these starving children?

Operation Compassion Assists with Meals to South Sudan

In 2011, South Sudan gained independence from Sudan after a 25 year civil war. Shortly after the celebration of liberation, the ruling political party divided and began infighting. By 2013, the political fighting devolved into street violence in the capital city and in many major cities across South Sudan and another civil war broke out leaving thousands fleeing for their lives. In 2017, government

 and world officials declared a famine throughout South Sudan as millions of people, mostly children, were starving to death.

Operation Compassion Begins Disaster Response to Tortola

Operation Compassion began sending 40’ containers to Tortola this week after receiving clearance. Since Hurricane Irma struck the island nation in the British Virgin Islands, Tortola has been trying to piece together enough infrastructures to begin receiving shipments in port.

Operation Compassion Provides 12 Million Meals Each Year for Children

indigenous-people-1433497Operation Compassion provides 12 million meals each year for malnourished children. These meals were scientifically developed to help stem starvation. It is a unique mixture of rice, soy and 26 vitamins and minerals that the human body needs to function properly. A regular diet of these meals will bring a malnourished child back to nutritional health.  These meals were designed so that local spices can be added to make it appealing culturally.
