For the past 10 years, Operation Compassion has been working on a plan to help feed hungry families and help provide them an income at the same time. This plan has taken on new growth as 6.6 million seed packets of vegetables and flowers have been set to Africa and Latin America.

Following the tornado outbreak of yesterday in Alabama, Operation Compassion is sending multiple semi-trucks loaded with disaster relief supplies to the Trussville, Clay and Pinson areas. One of our disaster partners, God’s Pit Crew, will be establishing a local distribution site in Trussville.

Operation Compassion recently participated with the 8th Judicial Drug Task Force in a national K-9 training exercise involving semi-trucks. Twenty-six drug enforcement dog/handler teams from Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana and Tennessee took part in the multi-day training event held in Cleveland, TN. The Chronicle of Philanthropy is the foremost authority in rating non-profits for their fundraising, distribution and gift-in-kind activity. The Chronicle of Philanthropy is to non-profits what the Forbes Top 400 list is to the wealthy.
