By , February 5, 2010

On January 25, 2010, renowned Grammy Award winning Gospel artist, Pastor Donnie McClurkin celebrated his 50th birthday with a 50th Jubilee Gala Celebration, a fundraising event benefitting Operation Compassion, Feed the Children and World Vision. The elegant affair took place at the historic Oheka Castle in Huntington, Long Island, New York.

The exclusive black tie dinner recognized McClurkin’s ministry and musical achievements. A distinguished artist who has reached the pinnacles of musical success, McClurkin will be honored by special guests and performances by Kim Burrell, CeCe Winans, BeBe Winans and Walter Hawkins.

In addition, Pastor McClurkin will auction off one-of-a-kind, celebrity-designed, autographed plates. Various celebrities and friends have joined the fight to combat the hunger created by the earthquake in Haiti. These special plates donated by Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey, Patti LaBelle, Dewayne Wade, Maya Angelou and Sherri Shepherd represent a meal for a hungry child in Haiti. These unique pieces of art are a once in a lifetime opportunity to assist Haitian earthquake relief.

Recognizing the devastation in Haiti created a crisis for hungry children and increased the number living in poverty, McClurkin was resolved to help Christian organizations in their efforts to continue vital relief programs. Pastor McClurkin stated, “My goal was to help bring light to this desperate problem facing our communities and neighborhoods as well as the millions of people worldwide. Operation Compassion, Feed The Children and World Vision has been pivotal in bringing the necessities of life to impoverished families here and abroad and I am honored to be a part of their efforts … As I look back on my life and celebrate 50 wonderful years, my hope is to continue to make a lasting impact on people in need.”
