Operation Compassion Continues Partnership to North Central Indians

By , March 21, 2007

Operation Compassion has a renewed partnership with Olive Branch ministries to deliver four to six semis of product each year. Volunteer driver, Dennis Parker, has set aside time to make the week long round trip to Tolstoy, ND and Big Timber, MT.

From these two locations, the North Central Indian nation can be served throughout the region, including a tribe 700 miles north into Canada. Also being able to pull product from the First American Distribution Center in Gallup, NM has made ministry more convenient and timely. From Gallup, the North Central is able to receive products that are regularly donated from our partners.

Northern Arizona Food Bank delivers food products including fresh produce, in season, on a monthly basis. While there never seems to be enough, there is always product to share. Children’s Hunger Fund sends a semi of almost new or good used clothes every other month. One bale of clothing will serve approximately 200 people. Feed the Children sends multiple semis throughout the year. The uniqueness of the FTC semis is the variety. Each semi usually has a large quantity of several different products that are staples in the lives of the Native American culture.

Olive Branch Ministries and Pastor Gary Sears have been instrumental in enabling Operation Compassion to continue serving the vast expanse where more than 26 Indian Nations live. Each year, Operation Compassion, through its partners, is able to reach at least 26 tribes with much needed supplies.

For Dennis Parker and his wife, Janice, these trips are a great love and ministry opportunity. Having their own business in Cleveland, TN, these trips afford them the chance to become missionaries to these Nations. One of the last opportunities to reach them before winter weather sets in is in late October. The Parkers especially enjoy this trip because they realize the supplies delivered are the last these precious people will receive until April or May of the following year.
